Alexander Holburn Beaudin + Lang LLP is proud to announce that Alan M. Ross, Partner, has been appointed a Judge of the Supreme Court of British Columbia. His appointment was announced by the Honourable David Lametti, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada.
Mr. Justice Ross spent the first 12 years of his legal career at Douglas Symes & Brissenden, before joining Alexander Holburn in 2000. His practice was primarily litigation-based with an emphasis on the defence of personal injury, life and disability claims. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in catastrophic injury cases, and has extensive experience in conducting trials and mediations. Mr. Justice Ross has also played a significant role in the leadership of the firm and served on Alexander Holburn’s Executive Team for more than 10 years.
Outside of Alexander Holburn, Mr. Justice Ross gave generously of his time and has been the President of the Vancouver Bar Association (1998), President of the Lawyers Inn Society (2003-2010), a Bencher of the Law Society of British Columbia (2010-2012) and the Chair of the Board of British Columbia Courthouse Library Society (2014-2019).
