Lorne Kotler is a Partner and a member of the firm’s Business Disputes, Labour + Employment, Administrative Law and Corporate Finance and Securities Practice Groups.

A seasoned litigator, Lorne regularly appears as counsel before the British Columbia Supreme Court and Court of Appeal. He has also represented clients before the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia (CPABC) and the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC).

Lorne’s legal practice encompasses administrative, regulatory, securities, corporate governance, employment, real estate and general commercial matters. He represents a diverse clientele and has particular experience advising and defending professionals, including accountants and dentists.  He has also represented clients in securities litigation and has a strong understanding of the regulatory framework surrounding the financial industry.

Lorne’s approach is to ensure his client’s business objectives always come first. Once those goals are established, he takes a big picture approach, considering all the facts and players before suggesting a course of action.  He frequently provides pre-litigation advice, with the goal of avoiding potentially extensive litigation. By taking a practical approach with a focus on his client’s long-term goals, Lorne has built enduring relationships with his clients, who trust and appreciate his creative and collaborative approach.

On A Personal Note...
