Dessa Booth is an associate and a member of our Insurance Practice Group.
Dessa has a broad litigation practice with a focus on insurance defence. She represented clients at the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia. During her articles, she gained insurance litigation experience in areas such as corporate and commercial law, local government, personal injury, defamation, administrative law, and property damage.
During law school, Dessa was a division leader and caseworker at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic, a resume and cover letter specialist at the Career and Professional Development Centre, and an editor for the Ottawa Law Review. She also received the Greenspon Granger Hill Prize recognizing her enthusiasm and exceptional effort in her work at the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic.
Prior to Alexander Holburn, Dessa studied Biology at Queen’s University. Her honours thesis project examined the effect of temperature on metabolic rate in a species of snail used in bioremediation.
