Miriam Kresivo, Q.C. is a leader in her profession. On January 1, 2018, Miriam became the President of the Law Society of British Columbia after many years of devoted work as a Bencher and Chair of numerous Law Society committees. Prior to her election as Bencher, Miriam served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Vancouver Bar Association for many years. She is one of only a few lawyers in the history of the British Columbia Bar who has been featured on the cover of The Advocate, a bi-monthly legal journal for B.C. lawyers, on two separate occasions. Miriam has also served on the Provincial Judicial Council which is tasked with making recommendations for the appointment of judges in B.C. As if this wasn’t enough, Miriam was a director of the B.C. Pavilion Corporation from 2002 to 2012 and in 2016 was appointed as a director of the B.C. Utilities Commission where she currently continues to serve. Through all of this, Miriam has carved out a reputation as a leading lawyer in the area of corporate and governance matters, having worked for many years as General Counsel of a major Canadian oil company and now with Alexander Holburn. In the lead up to International Women’s Day, we celebrate Miriam Kresivo as an outstanding Difference Maker at AHBL. Learn more about Miriam here.
