Statutory Leaves: Update and Discussion of Return to Work Obligations
Receive an update from our employment lawyers on the requirements of the new and existing statutory leaves (maternity, family responsibility, etc.; and critical illness/injury, domestic violence), and discuss cases dealing with claims arising from changes to position or pay on return to work, including:
- Review of old and new leaves under the ESA / CLC
- Case update on when the employer may not be required to return employee to work
- Discussion of treatment of bonuses, vacation pay and benefits during leave
