Michael practices in the area of civil litigation with a focus on insurance. A seasoned lawyer, he has worked as counsel to some of Canada’s largest retail and commercial property owners. Michael has distinguished himself as a leader through his work as a member of the firm’s Executive team and through his role as Chair of the firm’s Client Service Program. He succeeds Christopher Hirst who has served as Managing Partner since 2019, through two back-to-back terms.
Michael’s focus as Managing Partner will be on supporting the growth of the firm by embracing change and new technology, and by ensuring the people that contributed to the firm’s success and longevity always remain at the forefront.

Since 2019, Alexander Holburn has grown considerably, moved into new markets, strengthened its service offerings, and expanded the breadth and depth of its highly-regarded insurance practice.
